Biographical
sketch of
Leland Collins
I’m a convert to the
Church. When I first started attending the little
R.L.D.S. branch at Blackgum, Oklahoma, I didn’t join
overnight. I studied it out for two and a half
years. I read the Book of Mormon. Its testimony of
Jesus Christ convinced me that God was bigger than
the Bible and Bible lands. He had a plan for the
whole world and a specific mission for this Church.
That mission is to build the literal Kingdom of God
on the earth, even Zion.
I became
convinced that God wanted me to be a part of that
mission. In 1977, I joined the Church. Soon great
upheavals came along in my mother church. The church
no longer pursued her mission and changed her
doctrine. I, like many, separated myself from that
strange and different church; not suddenly, but with
much prayer, fasting and study.
We met as independent restorationists with a group
in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. In 1994 we gathered to the
Center Place and observed with great interest the
beginnings of the Remnant Church. Again this didn’t
happen overnight, it took a few years for me to
check out the pattern. When I was sure and had
studied it out for myself, I chose to fellowship
with the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter
Day Saints. It is the same Church that I had joined
in 1977. It teaches the doctrine of the kingdom,
which is the doctrine of Christ. I’m very exited
about the start of an actual community, where the
saints can live side by side and grow in Spirit,
into the people of God.
I thank God daily for the privilege to be here in
the land of Zion, at this great time. I thank God
for the gift of His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ.
I desire
to share this gift with everyone I meet.
I invite each and everyone to check it out for
yourself. I’m convinced that the Holy Spirit of God
will witness to you, as it did to me, that this is
His Church, restored for the last time to accomplish
His mission.
Your fellow laborer for Zion,
Apostle Leland Collins
