Consecration of Surplus 90k PDF

The following steps outline the process a member of the Church should follow when they desire to Consecrate their Temporal Lives to the Building of the Kingdom as required by the Celestial Law.

1. Contact the Office of the Presiding Bishop by phone (816-461-7215) or by letter (700 West Lexington Avenue, Independence, Missouri 64050) requesting the following material.

A)    “Zionic Development & The Celestial Law” by W. Kevin Romer (Presiding Bishop), Albert V. Burdick, and Gregory A. Turner (Counselors).

B)    “Surplus Accounting Booklet.”

2. A careful Study of this material is recommended along with a period of Prayer and Fasting.

3. Complete the Forms found in the “Surplus Accounting Booklet” and forward them to the Office of the Presiding Bishop at the above address. (If help is needed, feel free to call the Bishop or one of his Counselors).

4. The Presiding Bishopric will review the Forms for completeness, and contact the Steward to schedule an appointment and/or request further information to ensure the necessary information is obtained to make the meeting productive.

5. A meeting will be held at the Church Offices in Independence with the Bishop, his Counselors and the Steward or Stewards (husband and wife). The purpose of the meeting will be to agree on the appropriate Inheritance, Stewardships, and Surplus, and begin preparation for the Consecration Service.

6. A second meeting will be scheduled (30 to 90 days after the first meeting) to take place in the home of the Steward for a Consecration Service of Prayer, Dedication, and Blessing. The formal transfer of Funds, Deeds to Real Property, and/or Commitment of Time and Talents to the Storehouse should take place at the time of this Consecration service. A Certificate and Testimony will be given to the Steward as confirmation of their obedience to the Celestial law as it applies to Temporalities and the Gathering.
