Jerry A. Sherer - was born February 28, 1950 in Pisgah, Iowa and was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1958. He married Barbara J. Dickinson on June 12, 1971. They have two married children; a son Jason and his wife Jami; and a daughter Christine, and her husband Jacob; and four grandchildren: Alivia, Sydney, Brylee, and Josef.

Brother Jerry was an owner/ administrator of two health care facilities in western Iowa, along with his parents and two brothers for over 30 years. He served on the board of the family corporations for thirty years. The facilities are now being operated by the third generation of family members.

A fifth generation Latter Day Saint, he was ordained a Priest in 1980, an Elder in 1988, High Priest in 2003 and a Bishop in 2005. Jerry has always been a dedicated member of the Restoration gospel and signed the Proclamation and Invitation to the Faithful shortly after it was written. On April 3, 2010 he was set apart as Counselor to the Presiding Bishop of the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
