I was born in Detroit, Michigan but grew up in Lakeport along the beautiful Lake Huron. I am one of six girls and grew up in the Methodist Church, learning about serving from my parents. They were both very active in our church and community through 4-H and the scouting programs and I have followed in their footsteps in all three areas.
I met and married Ray Setter (Seventy) in 1976 and we have three wonderful children, Raymond, Nicole and Matthew, and ten beautiful grandchildren. Before meeting Ray, I had never heard of the RLDS church. While attending a church service with him, while we were dating, I had an experience where the Lord made it very plain to me where he wanted me. We have enjoyed attending and serving at many reunions and youth camps over the years. I have been a Zion's League Leader with Ray and have been a Women's Leader and Family Life Coordinator with my daughter.
Ray and I gathered to Missouri in 1999 and share twenty acres with Randall Porrett and his wife Robbin. The name of our property is R First Fruits. It is made up of mostly apple trees, but there are also pear, cherry, nectarine, peach, blueberries, and blackberries. We have a large garden that allows us to can the produce on a regular basis. We also try to keep bees for pollination and honey. God has blessed us and, as our property name suggests, we give away produce each year and use the rest for our consumption and storehouse. I am looking forward to serving on the Women's Council.
